Jazz scarf: vision 2

Here’s the original Jazz scarf redux, all finished and ready to go on sale! You’d think since I’ve already made the pattern once, it’d go smooth as silk the second time around, wouldn’t you? …yeah. I wound up having to make the visor section twice this time – the first one was PERFECT and then some sort of mystery residue got on my iron before the final pressing, and…ruined. *facepalm* Practice safe ironing, kids! Always use presser cloths! Anyway, some moaning and teeth-gnashing and a few handfuls of torn-out hair later, and the block was redone.

The ‘Jazz: vision’ scarf is pieced together in faux crazy patch, as per usual, using hundreds of tiny pieces of fabric that read in a solid color (or stripes or sections of a solid color) from a distance, and reveal the actual complexity of the construction only upon closer examination. Black crazy-patched stripes frame a wide center stripe of white, and inset into one end is our saboteur’s trademark visor. There’s a subtle ombré to the blue fabric, making it look like he’s got that gleam in his visor you just know means trouble for someone. The scarf is backed in soft black panné crushed velvet and quilted in freeform geometric lines and shapes, with the visor detail left unquilted for emphasis.
